What should I wear for the photo session?

It may be a professional photography session but, that doesn't mean we can't have some fun! Wear clothing that brings out your personality. These photographs celebrate you, and we want to see who you really are.

For more professional headshots, something you would wear to work (possibly your favorite work outfit) would be suitable. Stark colors like black or white can be striking in a photograph. I suggest avoiding those colors if possible unless it is what you prefer. If the session is on location, in a lush green landscape for instance, wear a color that will help you stand out from the background. we can't have you getting lost in the bushes now can we?

Consider browsing Pinterest or Google images for the look that you want to see in your pictures and choose an outfit similiar. Of course, consulting your photographer and bringing a few different options to the session is recommended.

How long until we see our pictures?

Photos from the session have to be uploaded and sorted. Then an album is set up online where you can view and choose edits. I do my best to get this done the day of the session but this is not always possible. Most clients have a viewing page availble within 24 hours. Once you choose your edits, the turnaround time depends upon how many edits are in the que. I can normally give a timeline for edits when you make your selections. I prefer to have them finished between four and seven days after edits are chosen. Once the edits are finished and you choose how many prints you would like to order, they are printed and shipped and should arrive in the mail within a week.

How does the editing process work?

Editing a photograph, also referred to ask touching-up, entails:

Sharpening the image

Cropping

Fixing any lighting issues

Removing blemishes, wrinkles, etc. as requested

Removing fly-away hairs

Additional editing is available which includes adding or removing objects from the scene or changing the entire background or foreground. Concepts like these are a special request and would be quoted seperately.

Can I recieve all of the edited images on a thumb drive?

With the advancements in printing online and the many options they afford, I see the draw to request images on thumb drive. This requires a limited release to the photos for use online and for printing. I include this with all of my sessions.

What type of equipment do you use?

I use a mirrorless Sony camera that is compact and, in my opinion, takes better photos than any DSLR I have ever owned. I do not have lights or a studio. My overhead is low and I reflect that in my prices. I believe natural light and creative use of light and angle can make fantastic photos.
